2. Rockets

Alka Seltzer Rocket Building

Watch Mr. Jones’s YouTube video to learn how to build and launch your rockets and see a bunch of real time and slow motion launches.  Then build your rockets, launch them outside with your safety glasses on and upload a short video to FlipGrid using the link below.

For more information check out the two links below with great videos:  The first link shows the rockets being used on an ABC news program. It also provides specific written directions, if needed. The second link shows a massive amount of them going off at once on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon (fast forward to the 4 minute mark if you don’t want to see the other cool science experiments right before the big launch).

Videos or pictures could also be emailed to Mr. Jones at tjones1@wolcottps.org.

Watch the video and learn how to use your inflatable globe and styrofoam ball (along with a light source) to demonstrate the difference between Rotation and Revolution, What Causes Seasons, and Solar and Lunar Eclipses.

Click on the links below to find out when the next eclipses will occur in North America and to learn more about the position of the Earth and Moon for each activity.

Make and upload a short video (up to 2 minutes) to Flipgrid demonstrating either (or all)
1. Rotation/Revolution
2. What Causes Seasons?
3. Difference between Solar and Lunar Eclipses
