3. Native Central and South American Cultures
The Aztec, Maya, and Inca Civilizations with Mexican Spiced Popcorn
Watch the video instructions Mrs. Lake-Post made first. Then look at the Aztec, Maya, and Inca data table on your first page of instructions in your bag. Next watch the Edpuzzle video linked below (titled The Maya, Aztec and Inca). Then watch the video on how to make your Mexican Spiced Popcorn. Directions are also listed on the cover page. (***CAUTION: For those that don’t like hot and spicy foods, you may only want to add a tiny dusting of Chili Powder with Cayenne Pepper or the Ground Cumin!) Once you have made your popcorn recipe with the drizzled chocolate and are reading "The Chocolate Tree, A Mayan Folktale", (attached to your packet) make a quick video on Flipgrid showing us the popcorn, tell us what you think of it, and either read a page from the story or tell us something you learned about the Mayan culture.
Feel free to share with your family and invite them to join you in the video.

4. Longhouses, Wigwams, and Teepees
Our final field trip usually takes us to Bushy Hill Nature Center where the Cosmic Cultures II kids learn all about Native American culture. Since we can’t go there this year, we found a way to bring the learning to you. The Bushy Hill education director made some fantastic videos.
